SRI RAM BALAJI MANDIR located in Lake Gardens in South Calcutta was inaugurated on 12th June 1964 and was built by the Late Sarukkai S. Krishna Iyengar, Founder – President of the Temple, designated by the Lord Sri Rama in 1960s in his dreams to build the temple and have the Prathistai done as per Paancha Ratra Agama Shastras. By grace of Lord Rama the temple was built and maintained excellently even today.

The architecture of the temple is the pride of attraction as sculptors were specially engaged from the south to design and construct the temple. The well maintained sanctity with strict religious rituals and upkeep of the temple and also by its eminent location, makes it a great place of worship.

The temple is just 7 Kms from Howrah Railway Station, Calcutta, India and is 25 Kms from Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Airport.

Lake Gardens, where the Temple is located is a small tinsel town by itself and is home to a large South Indian community. The Temple is a great pride for one and all in Calcutta.
